Here I go again!

As most of you know I spent much of August with THIS precious family.  I was able to help out with the kids and babies at home while the parents flew over seas to meet and adopt their daughter.  I learned so much and am so thankful that I got to play a part in bringing miss Anna (formerly known as Stacie) home.  Anna has a special place in my heart and the memories I have of her brothers and sisters are priceless.

Now I have the chance to help another family in their adoption journey.

Remember Melissa?  My girl with the cutest noes known to man kind?  This girl blows my mind with her cute and her will to survive.  A fighter I tell you (She will fit right in with her new little sister!).

The amazing Calls are bringing her home.  And next week I am flying down to Utah to watch Melissa's sister for a few weeks.  Again I am blown away that God would allow me to be apart of this.  I will never get tired of watching families be united.  Never.

--------------------------

On the home front:  We are so close to bringing our own Jordyn Gergana home.  Next week we will be getting her a birth certificate (After the 'grace' period is over for any relatives to step forward and protest the adoption).  After that she needs a passport and then we can work on getting her a Canadian Visa.  We are in the home stretch and can see the finish line!  All of this should take about 4 weeks.  All though it could be more or less.  We will just have to wait and see.  We are as ready as we will ever be for her to come home! I'm thrilled that after all this time of watching other families be united that it is finally our turn.  It's been a long year!

One Less

Court is over.  The judge didn't ask for any more documents.  He didn't need anything updated.  Nothing.

And this girl, the girl we fell in love with last year.
The girl hidden behind a brief description and the code name 'Georgia'...

Is an orphan no more.  She is ours.

Meet my sister,
Jordyn Gergana

Born: June 13, 2002.
Adopted: September 27, 2011.

God is good.

"I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry."
Psalm 40:1

Abigail turned five!

-This kid is back in our lives for a while.  I think we are all pretty smitten with her.  Can you see why?  It doesn't help that I get paid to watch watch her.

-Tomorrow is our court date for our E. European adoption.  Please pray everything goes smoothly.  We are not expecting any problems but we have ran into so many other delays one just never knows.  Hah.  I can't handle this adoption.  I am so blessed.

-Abby had a birthday yesterday.  Tear.  Baby girl is now five.  How did that happen?  Funny thing is, she is acting so much older today.  And yesterday she was convinced she could cross the road without holding someones hand because she is now five.  No way sister.  She had some friends over.  I loved it.  And I love group pictures were no one is looking at the camera.  Seriously.  So funny.

My baby girl.  And her eye dimples.  Anyone else know someone with eye dimples?
I can't get over how cute they are!

blown away

Alex.  My sweet boy.  He has a family.  Someone who is working to get him out of that institution.  Tears.

God is good.

Thank you to everyone who helped share about him and donated to his grant fund.  His birthday was a good one.  In the 10 days that his birthday giveaway was going, $500 was raised for his ransom.  When I checked this morning it had gone up anther $100.  Final count? $2,601.80.  God is good.

Now he has a family.  And I have no words.  I am happy.  So, so happy.

Happy Birthday Alex!!

Transferred

Alex has been transferred.

Plain and simple, my boy is now living in a mental institution.

I knew this day would come.  I was dreading it.  I was hoping and praying a family would step forward and go get him.  That his orphanage would be able to keep him at his orphanage until a family could go get him.

None of those things happened.  He has no family.  His orphanage could keep him there no longer.

Please go back and read THIS post.
Watch the documentary.  It is real.
It will show you what mental institutions can do to a smart happy little boy like Alex.

My heart cries.

"For I know the plans I have for you; declares the LORD.  Plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you a hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11

------------------------------------

Alex is still adoptable.  He still has a chance at a family.  He needs us to yell for him even louder now.  I don't want to think about what he is living through right now.  He is still so young.
He doesn't turn five until Sunday.

There are only a few more days left in Alex's birthday giveaway.
Please go see Amber's blog for more details.

Any size donation to Alex's grant fund gets you entered to win prizes.  Every.single.dollar helps.  You can also be entered by simply sharing about Alex.

THANK YOU so much everyone who has prayed for Alex and shared about him/donated to his grant fund.  We did not prevent him being sent to the institution, But maybe, we can get him of there quickly.

He needs a family..NOW.  He needs our prayers...NOW.  Please act.

Yes I am posting this again {giveaway}

Five days until this little boy turns five.  Five days.

He has fought to survive for so many years by himself.  This year he has people fighting and celebrating his little life for his birthday.  Finally someone is remembering him.  Hopefully he will be spending his next birthday in a family..not a mental institute.  I can only pray that that will be true.

In honor of his birthday we are running a giveaway for him.  We have some awesome prizes you could win, while helping celebrate Alex's life.  Here are just a few of the things you could win...

FACING IMMINENT TRANSFER
Sweet smile!  Alex was born with CP.   Alex is a sweet boy.   He is described as VERY smart, and the orphanage staff desperately want a family for him.   He is not able to walk at this time, and he does have a functional systolic murmur in his heart.

Alex will remain bedridden when he is transferred to the institution.  Hope we can find a family for him soon.

I have a family

I am so thankful for my family.
Not because they are funny (which they are) or they are cute (which they are) or even because they love me (which they do...most of the time).  I am thankful for them because I have them.  I really cannot comprehend how I have a family and 163 million children do not.  163 million.  That is more then the population of Canada people.  Why me?  Why not them?

Why not Alex?
{not to be confused with "my" Alex on the right of this blog}
He is 7 years old and  "would love to have a family of his own."
Edit: Alex has found a family!!

"Alex is extremely curious, and wants to know about everything. He loved our camera, and while all the other kids wanted their pictures taken, he wanted to figure out how every button worked. He is one of the older kids at the orphanage, and he has seen so many other kids come and go.  He needs a family so badly."

Why not Sadler?
He is 6 years old and he "very much wants a family of his own."
Edit: Sadler has found a family!

" Sadler is a typically developing child.  He is smart, healthy, active, and friendly."

Why not Yelena?
She is 7 years old and "So badly wants a family of her own."

"What a beautiful, glowing smile Yelena has!  Beautiful blonde hair (all hidden under her kerchief)."

These children are just that, children.  And there one wish?  A family.  How can I not be thankful when I have the one thing so many children and teens pray for?

So that is my light bulb moment of the week.  Be thankful for your family.
Just because they are your family.  163 million children would love to have one.

And because they are cute and funny and I love them, here is a picture of my family.
Oddly, this is only half of us.

----------------------------------------------
Alex, Sadler and Yelena are all waiting for families.  Do you have room in your family for one of them?  They aren't picky and you don't have to be perfect!!

words

We have had a really cold summer  Really cold.  I was sure that fall had hit last week when, well, it got even colder out.  But God decided to shine the sun on us for a little bit longer.  This last week we had the nicest weather all summer.  Yes please and thank you.

Today the cold weather blew in.  Literally.  You should of seen the wind.
Now we are back out of our, uh, bear feet and back into our shoes.  Sigh.  Now it is onto cold until May.  You just have to roll with the punches.  Welcome to Canada people!

It is September.  Last September I was getting ready to head to Africa.  How has it been a year?  Crazy crazy.  Last September we also committed to our little Georgia-Peach.  I really didn't think this adoption would take more then a year.  Sweet and sour.

Two weeks until my baby sister turns five.  Sob.

The above picture is of her "mad spider" face.  Are you scared?  Because I sure was shaking in my boots.  Soon after this picture was taken she had me tied up.  Watch out for those mad spiders people.  They will be the ones to take over the world, not the robots.

Eddie (My pooch) is pretty popular with the ladies at the park.
He had them chasing him in circles the other day..

They're pretty precious.

the end.

The boy from Baby House 41

Have any of you seen the documentary The Boy in Baby House 10?  If not you should watch it.  It is heart breaking {but at the same time beautiful} and so very real.  Here are the links to watch it online.

This reminds me so much of Alex.  Alex is smart.  But his legs don't work just right.  Because of that he has no place in his country (That is not the same country mentioned in the documentary), he will spend his life in orphanages and eventually a mental institute.

My heart is breaking for this little boy.

Please pray that a family will step up and adopt him on time.  please.  And if you feel lead please join us in celebrating his 5th birthday in style.  His life is precious and he deserves some celebrating!  We have five ways you can help us celebrate:

1. PRAY!

2. Join his F@acebook group and help share his story with your friends. (see HERE)

3. Collect Change! See HERE for more details.

4. Donate to his adoption grant fund. We are trying to raise just over $500 this month for his birthday. Funds collected will be used to help pay the costs of his international adoption.
Donations are Tax-Deductible! Even $10 makes a BIG difference.  Donate here.

5. Coming soon! You don't want to miss this!

Lets help save Alex!!

{His adoption profile is listed below.  Are you his family?  do you know someone who is?}

We went away

Last weekend between coming and goings my family ran away.  It was wonderful.  We went to one of my favorite places in the world, right in the mountains.  Heaven I tell you.

My favorite older sister was home, but now is gone again.
People are always coming and going in our family.

Love this kid so much.

Little sister isn't looking so little anymore!!

The drive there and back is crazy.  We do a lot of sleeping to pass the time. :)

And dad drives.

Now we are home.  And it is cold.  And we all can't wait to have our girl home!

the end.

He has fought and survived for so long, he deserves a little loving this year.

Would you like to help?
